Elvis Presley (1935-1977) Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. In 1985, Presley began his music career by recording with Sam Phillips at Sun Records. Presley’s first RCA single was “Heartbreak Hotel” which was released in January of 1956 and quickly became a #1 hit in the United States. Presley quickly became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of Rock & Roll. In 1956, he made his first film Love Me Tender and throughout his career he would go on to make many more. In 1958, he was drafted into the Military as a Private at Fort Chaffee in Arkansas. After training he joined the 3rd Armored Division in Friedberg, Germany where he met Priscilla Beaulieu whom he would marry 7 and a half years later. On February 1st, 1968 Elvis and Priscilla had their first and only child together, Lisa Marie. The couple would go on to separate due to adultery on the ends of both parties on February 23rd, 1972.
