Zach Sobiech (1995-2013)
Zachary David Sobiech was born in May 3rd, 1995 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. At age 14, Sobiech was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer which normally affects children. During his treatment he underwent 10 surgeries and 20 rounds of chemotherapy. He graduated from Stillwater Area High School in 2013. Sobiech started writing music after his diagnosis. In May 2012 he was told that he only had up to a year to live which prompted him to write the song “Clouds” about his battle with Cancer. He uploaded it to YouTube where it has received more than 13 million views. He also formed the band A Firm Handshake in 2012 with friends. They released on EP Fix Me Up, in early 2013 which gained some success in the USA and the UK.

Received Dream Maker Award
Charity: Family established the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund in 2015 which continues to grow.
